Rippin’ Riders is a pretty fun if somewhat basic snowboarding game for the Dreamcast that was developed by UEP Systems the creators of the original Cool Boarders games (CB1＆amp;2) for Playstation as well as Cool Boarders Code Alien for PS2 (which was only released in Japan)． The manual makes things a little harder than it actually is (not to mention some special tricks are mislabeled such as Tia’s Stalefish) and the game is probably slightly underrated． The game features various unlockables such as the practice circuit from Cool Boarders 2 as well as hidden characters from Cool Boarders 2． The Japanese version (known as ’Cool Boarders Burrrn’) had a hidden character known as ’Tightman’ who was replaced overseas with ’Jimmy’． The game featured lovely environments for its time with some interesting unrealistic level designs and semi-realistic lighting a decent soundtrack where each character has music in their favorite genre a decent roster of characters each with different stats which can be modified with a variety of boards simple tricks for each character (pulling off combos and ’Misty’ can be pretty difficult) alternate costumes and advertisements and sponsors for the game． It has a bit of a learning curve but so do most games of this type． Once you’re accustomed to the feel of the game you can have some fun beating past records pulling off nice tricks and exploiting various shortcuts． The game has about half a dozen tracks and a few competitive modes to play ＆lt;b＆gt;．．．＆lt;／b＆gt;
